I can see why 3-4 hours may feel like a lot, but I feel like the length makes sense considering it's a bi-monthly podcast.
There's also a lot to cover in the topics they discuss, and the impressive knowledge of these guys makes that possible, which justifies the length of some of the episodes in my opinion. I've been following the videogame industry for more than 30 years, yet I learn something new in every episode of the podcast. It's just very interesting and enjoyable.
3 hours is a sweet spot for a fortnightly show. So far I’ve enjoyed every one and it’s a good idea to cover specific years. I recommended 2001 just when they were starting the show, maybe one day we’ll see such episode. My least favourite was Analogue 3D, simply because I don’t have any nostalgia for N64 and I’m not the biggest fan of that company’s approach to FPGAs.
Currently Playing: CyberPunk 2077, Tomb Raider Remastered, Super Mario Bros 2, SSX3, Zelda TOTK, Donkey Kong Bananza, Coral Island, Mario Kart World
I don't have a problem with duration of shows either way, i mainly listen/watch content during commutes and i just continue next time when the commute is over.
