Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2. We already knew it was coming, but I'm still fascinated to see the state of play once the open beta kicks off this weekend.
As this is the first time that Call of Duty has graced Switch or Switch 2 hardware, this also represents the first time that there's been a (free) chance to check out how modern COD performs on a Nintendo handheld. The previous beta weekend, open to pre-order customers, included PS5, Xbox and PC but not Switch 2.
We'll have our boots on the ground (or violently hopping from side to side in an attempt to avoid enemy bullets) to get an early sense of the game before it releases in full on October 23rd.
The open beta weekend starts on Friday, 28th August at 6PM UK time, 10AM PT, and runs until the same time on September 1st. Pre-loading is already available if you want to get started on what has the potential to be a fairly lengthy download, given the inclusion of multiplayer, campaign and Warzone modes. You also need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to take part in the multiplayer action.
Got any questions for us about the beta? Let me know in the comments below and I'll pass them on to designated marksman Tom. See you online.
