Topic: Did PS5 Pro get a universal PSSR update?

Edit: Something looked off today, Jan 6, so I checked my display settings (LG B4). Suddenly 4K 120hz was no longer listed and it was operating at 1440p 120hz. Corrected the resolution and got my settings back in order. Wondering if maybe my settings got wonky and I was playing in 1440p for a while? I’m not sure why it would switch the settings around, unless PXPlay could be causing issues with display settings when remote streaming.

I booted up Avatar on my PS5 and it was looking extra sharp today, even compared to when I was just played it last night. Eventually made my way over to Star Wars Outlaws and was immediately shocked at how sharp the image was looking in that game as well (the hair and jacket were looking extra refined). Checked on another PSSR title, Battlefield 6, and it also looked like it had improved clarity. I went to my system settings and there was a system update installed overnight.

Am I going blind? Was there a PSSR update that could have possibly happened with the latest software version? I genuinely thought Avatar and Outlaws were a welcome, but still very okay, bump in clarity on the Pro but suddenly they looked really great to my eyes tonight!

Regarding your post i have checked from my side but i didn't receive any update so are you enrolled in beta updates may you got a new update before other !?

I'll have to boot SH2 and have a look for any improvement, I wonder what other games had poorer PSSR visuals that could be tested.

Edit: I don't see any changes to SH2, but my console has not had any recent updates either. The latest FW (25.08-12.40.00) has had a phased deployment, so maybe that's what OP saw and any improvements are just an impression, or OP is on some beta branch (although updates to pssr thus far were handled by title updates rather than FW).

I’m not enlisted in beta updates, I definitely just got the update that was being phased out on December because when I later looked up the version number there was nothing of note. I guess it’s just me being crazy! I don’t get too much time to game and only recently bought the Pro on Black Friday, so I might have just mentally forgotten what a difference it made and had the PS5 amateur retained in my memory.
