Nintendo Direct This Week: What's Expected from the June 9th Stream? 1

Nintendo has announced a 50-minute Direct and 95-minute Treehouse: Live show to take place tomorrow, the 9th of June at 3PM UK time (7AM PT), thereby rounding out the quasi-E3 summer reveals season. We've already seen a PlayStation State of Play, Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase, so what has Nintendo got in store?

Rumours are flying quick and fast of course, with various sources including Eurogamer reporting on the possibility of a Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, a new Mario/Wario game or even footage of the upcoming live-action Zelda movie. A New Fire Emblem title, Fate's Weave, has also been announced and is set to release this year and would therefore make sense too - and the same reasoning can be applied to From Software's The Duskbloods.

I asked the DF Supporter Discord for their predictions, and Chaz suggested a new 3D Mario - though they admitted it's probably too early. Supporter xwurm anticipated more Star Fox, which would be fantastic, and also postulated about a Switch 2 special edition. Gormond chimed in with a request for a mainline Zelda title, given that it's been three years since Tears of the Kingdom launched.

What do you expect to see at the 09.06.26 Nintendo Direct?

Not all of the predictions were positive. Regular sj33 suggested that we'd be unlikely to see a new first-party Nintendo game from franchises that have seen recent Switch 2 upgrades, which would make a new 2D or 3D Mario release less likely. Mister Turtle delivered my favourite prediction of them all with one (hyphenated) word: F-Zero. Yes, please.

With that, I turn it over to you, the discerning predictor. What do you expect to see at the Nintendo Direct showcase? And what are you secretly hoping to see even though you know that it's incredibly unlikely? Your answers in the poll and/or the comments, please.
