After some issues with my PC I effectively had to do a BIOS update to fix them. This lead to W11 seeing my mobo as new hardware thus expiring my W11 license. This was a digital license through the MS website that doesn't come with a product key.
After a troubleshooting procedure that seems designed to literally have you run around in circles. The end result is now: So sorry buddy, just give us another 100+ and we'll fix that for you with a fresh license.

This is 2026 and these guys can't tie a digital license to an account instead of hardware? Of course they can. They just like money too much. **** I hate these guys....

Is there a very specific reason why you must use Windows? I'm not saying that this is your specific case, but I've recently been getting very frutrated with the incessant complaining about Windows. If you don't like it, don't use it! There are a million alternatives and I feel very strongly that a vast majority of people complaining could do everything they want without it. They're a several trillion dollar company, they don't make their decisions based on all these complaints

@PolArbequina My problem isn't with Windows, it's with the people selling it. There's zero reason why they couldn't tie your digitally acquired license 100% to your account instead of hardware and simply limit the number of machines you run it on simultaneously. It's crazy to me that a simple mobo BIOS update voids your license and requires you to purchase a new one.
