It would appear that one of the four stuttering horsemen may have been recently slain by modder lukeman3000, by way of his currently in beta Ishimura Patch.

It even got a little bit of shine from wccftech, who do a pretty good job of breaking down how the mod works around Dead Space Remake’s stubborn traversal stutter…

“ Ishimura Patch addresses this by preallocating larger blocks of GPU memory and subdividing them into smaller allocations as needed, substantially reducing the number of expensive requests made during gameplay. The mod also includes optimizations to the GPU's copy queue and texture streaming behavior, allowing certain streaming operations to proceed without unnecessarily holding up frame rendering.”

If like me, you gave Remake a go initially, only to be turned off by egregious stuttering, you should definitely give this mod a try. It really does take care of the vast majority of existing stuttering.

And while you’re at it, try forcing one of the newer DLSS transformer models. The game launched with 2.5 and really benefits nicely from upgraded upscaling tech.
