I'm creating a new thread for the general topic — in the 'game optimizer' topic I was uninformed and assumed that the feature is near-essential for gaming use.
Power saving features (which may not even significantly save energy) will lower at least the panel brightness and motion interpolation is generally undesired. You can refer for instance to the rtings.com guides for TV model picture optimization (without dedicated calibration hardware).
Also worth noting from the earlier thread:
Should the Nvidia's Gsync and AMD's Freesync be disabled for console use (likely incompatible)?
UPDATE: the former option is called 'VRR & G-sync' and certainly appears to now be mandatory for PS5's VRR support — after enabling the setting, the difference in the God of War: Ragnarok's 120fps (does not maintain its target frame rate) mode is extremely clear.
