@Obsidian76 thanks for the feedback. After a lot of faffing about I managed to get it working. I had to allow experimental proton to work in Heroic launcher to work. Only seemed an issue with cyberpunk phantom liberty. My other GOG game just worked with everything defaulted.
@Obsidian76 I’ve very little Linux experience but tried to install and launch cyberpunk on my steam machine using Heroic. Just hit a crash every time I moved past the CDPR splash page which has cyberpunk Witcher etc. so something a little more native to Linux without the need for the Heroic launcher would be helpful to me . There might be more tutorials for this pop up online as more people get their hands on the steam machine but for now I can only find steam deck walkthroughs or people showing how to get the game in your library but not actually launching the game. So it’s not very easy. But as I say I’ve no Linux experience outside of the steam machine so people in the know might fair better.
@Darren1967 but wouldn’t the process still work regardless of having the full game or just a launcher. The disk becomes the key to convert to digital whilst still allowing you to share or sell and transfer the licence to another account. It helps retain some value and use for your back catelogue of disk games, Launcher or full game.
Or are you trying to say physical doesn’t matter to Xbox so they won’t bother with this either way?
@Ed64 I got a pre build several years ago which was intel and the realities are it’s earlier to stick with what I’ve got rather than switching the motherboard and CPU to AMD. I know it’s not a huge deal but it’s much more convenient switching the GPU, RAM, or SSDs rather than pulling it all out. And to totally purchase a new pre build it’s considerably more expensive now than it was several years ago. So if it’s good enough people are probably just keeping what they have and for me it’s good enough. If you are wondering I’ve got a 13700k with 4080.
Im not sure I’m keen on this or not. The faces are particularly uncanny in motion, but I expect like DLSS 1, all will improve with time. But congratulations on the coverage, not sure why DF are getting a kicking, seems a bit of shoot the messenger.
