Bit baffled by the controversy over this. I watched the video last night and was impressed, and am looking forward to its release. I wish I had been able to play RE:R like that last week. People can fight over 'artistic integrity being compromised' but come on - it is just a tech demo. They said they got Todd Howard to sign off on the Starfield changes, so it wasn't all done without consent. In some games we want as close to photo-realism as we can get, and the truth is AI is just going to help. Lighting is remarkable complex to model, and game engines have been doing tricks for ever to make things look 'better'. This is just a tech demo of HOW this new tech could improve things a stage further.
We all hated on frame-gen when that came out, but the truth is when it works nicely, it just helps. When DLSS5 ships you'll probably be able to inject it into older titles, have a play and decide if you want it on - but anything new will have been tuned and signed off by the team. If it looks anywhere as good as those demos I can't wait to check it out.
