As a PS5 owner I cannot stress enough how unbelievably insane I find this decision, it is diametrically the opposite of what I want as a Sony customer. Not surprising at all given the other insane announcements this year.
It will not come out with a 60 FPS mode, no information even when preorders are live is in my opinion the same as saying: it will be 30 FPS and you will love it and say "thank you" and "please".
I had to play GTA IV on Xbox 360 with 15-30 FPS in 2008, then GTA V also on the 360 with 15-30 FPS and it was already distracting back then. I cannot for the life of me understand how 30 fps still is a thing. I am on base PS5 and won't upgrade to the Pro due to the CPU issues mentioned in the article. PSSR2 is a great feature but won't magically make the CPU faster, I wish they would improve FSR further on base PS5, but neither image quality nor 60 FPS seem to matter to punters these days.
If they can't deliver a smooth 60fps gaming experience 13 years after GTA V on base PS5, then I will happily not buy it until it releases for PC.
