I'm glad the first post is a PS3 game, as I know there's some discussions on whether that era of games can already be considered retro. I certainly think so, especially since I was not able to jump in to PS3 at launch, so I love finding titles from the first few years of that console. Case in point, just this weekend I was fortunate enough to find this very well kept copy of Virtua Tennis 3 for the PS3. I loved the first two entries on Dreamcast, so I had to get it, and was impressed to see the game appears to run at a smooth 60FPS while also being presented in full 1080p. So for me it's a retro gem that has great visuals that still hold up great even today.
I remember that back in the PS2 era, tennis games were quite popular.
In fact, my first game on the PS2 was a tennis game, it was Smash Court Tennis Pro Tournament.
The PS1 had a 3D tennis game as a launch title, but definitely the height of tennis games popularity was around the PS2 era, there were tons of options. Virtua Tennis was the one that hooked me, though, the gameplay is very smooth and engaging, and I always thought the models were extremely detailed so replays and win/loss cutscenes looked great. It has plenty of content too besides the tennis matches, so it's a very well served package.
This brings my total to 48 Mega CD (PAL) games. Still a lot to pick up. I don't aim for a complete collection, as some of the more rare ones are just absurdly expensive.
Been looking for a Gamecube in good conditions for months now, with no luck. As most Nintendo consoles, finding second-hand systems in good shape is very difficult as a lot of the people using them are kids.
Finally, a few days I found this CIB cube previously owned by a collector, and I couldn't say no.
The thing is pretty much brand new, it's insane. This is a European (Italian, specifically) Super Mario Sunshine Pak. Pretty much one of those "sticker slapped on a box" bundles, but it comes with a boxed memory card and a copy of Super Mario Sunshine (also in perfect conditions). So all the essentials in one package, which is nice. Very happy with this one!
