Jack Huynh from AMD announced on X/Twitter that FSR Redstone will be in Call of Duty 7.

We'll finally be able to see what this technology is capable of.

I hope it's on RDNA 3.
I want to extend the use of my 7800XT.

I'm reading some criticism about this, that the performance is very bad.

But on Twitter everything is bad, nobody likes anything.

I'm sure DF already has a video prepared for this.

So is this using the ray regeneration stuff? Hopefully DF will take a look.

@EventfulCitrus
Yes
But that's the only functionality of the FSR Redstone package.

There are already some videos on YouTube.
It looks decent.

Thanks! This horribly titled video shows off the difference between the default denoiser and FSR Ray Regeneration.

It's definitely an improvement over the default and seemingly without much of a performance penalty, though there isn't much in the way of RT overall in this example.

from the picture it is an improvement so it is great to see the tech finally coming to us peasants

so, is Redstone comparable to Nvidia's DLSS Ray Reconstruction? Basically a denoiser for ray traced/path traced lighting effects?

long overdue. I hope it makes it to ps6, because those RT effects on ps5 pro need some serious denoising.

@Rich_Leadbetter Just got round to watching this, thanks for taking a look!

Seems pretty good overall. Better than the default denoiser though it doesn't compare as favourably to Nvidia's ray reconstruction. Despite that, it is still cool to have and I'm sure it'll improve over time.

@Rich_Leadbetter Yeah, strange decision to throw it in one mode of Black Ops 7 without much fanfare before the big reveal. Maybe just getting some last-minute feedback in the real world.

after seeing how many glossy floors are on blops7 it makes sense that they try it on this game
