What graphics modes were you guys running Starfield at when it crashed? 30/40/60fps - Performance, Visuals or Enhanced mode?
I've not had any issues with crashes over 10+ hours of play, but I use 40FPS Visuals mode. Just wondering if the Pro-specific Enhanced mode is to blame? Just a thought.
I think it's more related to activity than graphics modes, a huge number of people crashing outside Akila whilst scanning, which happened to me after hours wth no issue doing missions. It seems high risk to sprint across a busy planet surface.
I have also heard of an Outpost building bug that is repeatable on the Enhanced mode, and a crash exiting cruise mode.
Yeah Performance mode for me. No way can I go back to anything less than 60fps too!
In cities it does drop way below that.
It crashes when you run, sometimes. Mines crashed probably 15 times in 26 hours.
PSSR toggle is on, Perf mode, uncapped, vsync Off.
I do find this to be the best mode though. It’s smoother and sharp. I actually think the other modes look worse at times, weirdly. Maybe a PSSR over 60fps and VRR thing benefiting uncapped Performance mode?
I agree, the crashes (which are still happening even since the recent hotfix) don't seem to be related to high CPU or GPU load.
Now playing in Uncapped Performance mode - going back on my comment above where I said 40fps Visuals.
The benefit of smooth frame-rate outweighs any loss in graphics quality. TBH Performance mode on PS5 Pro looks impressive. PSSR toggle is on. I have not tried disabling V-Sync.
Minor side observation: Distance to screen (optical angle?) seems to affect my sensitivity to FPS. Starfield on PS5 Pro at 40fps is fine when on the couch but hard to tolerate when using the monitor at my desk.
