As a PC gamer, the dilemma is not necessarily physical vs digital, but rather DRM vs non-DRM. I don't mind purchasing games digitally as long as those bits and bytes belong to me. I can put them on a storage drive and store them forever. I can put them on any PC that I want to play on and I know I will always get the same experience indefinitely. Consoles are the opposite. They control what you play, where you play, and how much you're paying to play it. And even then, how long that lasts is not guaranteed. Console platforms are continuing to tighten the grip on players and I fear that that bubble will burst one day and those same players will be the ones paying the price.
