Hey chaps, I was wondering if anyone else has ordered a Analogue 3D console? I received an email last week to say I had until Sunday to change my address or cancel the order before my console was dispatched...but I have heard nothing since. Have any of you received notification that your console is on the way?
Also, will there be any DF coverage of the console?

@CuteSpirit Great article with a lot of info. I'm actually surprised they didn't mention that the lead hardware engineer Marshall Hecht is the original creator of the Ultra HDMI mod for N64.
As for ordering one, I haven't yet. Maybe. Although I already have N64Digital, RT4k and X7. You basically can't get better than that for OG hardware. I am interested in the Over clocking the A3D does though.
Agreed! So grateful for this type of in depth coverage. I didn't clock that omission, but did spot that the device had features of the HDMI mod and that stuck out to me so thanks for the clarification. It's great to finally have a clear picture of what this thing is after so much time.
So I noticed that GameInformer seems to say the system does support BT controllers (and remapping?):
"But since it's a Bluetooth system, if you're unbothered by the different face-button layouts, you have several different options for controllers, and you can customize the experience in a ton of different ways."
"In some of our least-favourite news to report, Analogue 3D does not currently support any gamepads outside N64 controller-port devices and the 8Bitdo 64. This may possibly stem from Analogue's OS not supporting button remapping of any kind, which would be essential to let users translate Xbox-styled gamepad inputs to the N64's unique controller however they see fit."
@Bigmanupstairs I agree. Last year during their announcement they said "Compatibility: Original N64 game cartridges". I assumed right away it wasn't going to work with flash carts. The NSO controller is disappointing too.
At that time I ended taking one of their advertisements and added up all the carts they showed to see what it would cost to pay them. This was the average used price for the carts. I'm sure the prices have gone up.
I pre-ordered this on the day it dropped, but eventually canceled my order when they were being so quiet about updates and showing any photos or videos. Then they kept delaying it.
I’m glad to see it turned out to be a good machine, but I don’t regret canceling my order anyway. It’s a bit too expensive for how much I would probably use it. I might change my mind someday because I do love those N64 wrestling games! There are many ways to play them though, including on the upcoming Steam Machine...
I'm pretty bummed it doesn't fully support Everdrives as I sold most of my physical game cartridges months ago. I fully expected them to work as they have done on past Analogue devices.
If that's not resolved soon I'll be selling my Analogue 3D unopened as there's no point in keeping it.
I haven't looked into it but it might have the ability to load everything to SD card, I haven't been keeping up with what Analogue are allowing on that front these days.

Did the Analogue Duo ever get "unofficially" jailbroken, like the others did?
I got mine in tonight and it recognized most of my old carts immediately but didn't want to load Buck Bumble at first. I tried out my Everdrive v2.5 with the old firmware that Joe from Game Sack said worked in his video and yeah that works fine. I think my Everdrive (which is from 2014 so very old) is failing a bit though because resetting the console to save like you're supposed to brings up the message saying it's saving to the sd card but it just isn't. Either that or the SD card's also old and failing so I'll switch that out first.
The Analogue Duo did get a jailbreak but it was never updated to have feature parity with the official firmware so the jailbreak is kind of wonky and disappointing as some games don't work quite right.
I assume the 3D will get a jailbreak as well and not have any of those issues because the N64's a lot less weird and compatibility with flash carts and such has been great for years.

Oh man, I didn’t even make that connection! I have his 64Drive and the UltraHDMI, both are awesome products. Good to know this guy is still around.

Yeah same. Add BlueRetro Receivers + NSO controllers to the list. The overclocking stuff is very intriguing, but my biggest issue is, that using my childhood N64 is par of the expierence. So I guess I will not buy it right now and wait if they can add more undeniable features to it over time, like forcing PAL games to 60Hz. I would prefer to use OG cards instead of using NTSC versions via flashcard.
My Analogue 3D is coming sometime! They created the shipping label, but it hasn't physically been shipped out yet.
My brother kept our childhood N64, and I currently don't have a RetroTINK or something like that, so this is absolutely perfect for me. I just want to pick up some other N64 games and it seems like the prices of those went up this week as reviews came out.
