After playing the latest DLC which is another banger detective puzzle, similar to my favorite mission in the main game, I think KCD2 is the best game of the year and easily the best First Person RPG since Skyrim.

Also the rumors of it being inaccessible and too hard are greatly exaggerated. Like 10% into the story you learn a move that makes you damn near invincible in combat. I was destroying people in combat for most of this game and I'm a casual gamer.

And as far as mechanics It takes maybe an hour max to learn most of them, except lockpicking that took me till half way through the game till it clicked.

The game's really interesting, bought it on launch on PC and played a couple of hours (basically, the end of tutorial). Then I didn't ever come back to it for some reason. It's not that it's bad or anything, I just haven't had the time. I hope I will soon. But I never played the first game so the characters didn't immidiately click for me.

I agree that its the best first person rpg since Skyrim, you really do get some fantastic Elder Scrolls vibes from the game.

The quests, the story and the world is just incredible, I'm so excited for their next game.

Its probably my goty, but Rematch, Hell Divers 2 and Blue Prince have all been really special this year.

Ugh, this is the story of my life with so many games I play. You could even apply it to TV shows too. Some I just kinda fall off of, and as you say, it's not really a commentary on the quality of the product. Just a combination of not enough hours in the day, a huge backlog, and other general life stuff. Sometimes I even just forget it exists for a bit.

It's probably my favorite game since RDR2 or maybe Witcher 3.

There are just enough "sim" like elements to really overwhelm people initially I think, especially since you start off relatively underpowered compared to many other action/adventure RPGs. It's balanced in a way where you have to play the early game like a damn survival game lol, but it's so well done that once you start building a little momentum the progress is very gratifying.

I was saving a second playthrough until all the DLC finished releasing, so I'm probably going to run it back again pretty soon.

Yes, I agree. Might even be my most favorite game ever. It is exactly what I always wanted in a RPG. Just finished my second play through including finishing the new DLC.
