Honestly, for most of my favorite old games, I'd like them as I remember them, so I'd be glad if they just get them working on modern devices. I particularly miss the old racing games with unique tracks as it's all about the same open-world one-biome formula now. Games like the entire Ridge Racer series, the older Need for Speeds (before the tuner trash — sorry, I hate the Fast n Furious-inspired devolution of racing in pop culture), and the Screamer series. The upcoming Screamer game has about as much in common with the original Screamer games as the recent Marathon game did with the original.

SOCOM! Keep the pacing and gameplay, but refine the controls and give it a nice graphics overhaul.

I would like to see KOTOR series and Jedi Academy get touched up in a Mass Effect Legendary Edition/RTX Remix way. I wouldn't mind a full on Final Fantasy 7 Remake style remaster of Jade Empire. I remember playing ME1 -> ME2 and feeling like the shooting in the first game was ok-ish but that they really nailed it in part 2. I would love to play the "really nailed it" version of JE's combat.

I'm adding Ghost Recon Wildlands to the mix. Great game but showing it's age now. On a sidenote I only this week discovered it doesn't launch on a modern Intel cpu. I found out on the Steam boards it requires you to manually disable the e-cores which is a bit of a hassle just to play one game. Sadly the console versions are locked at 30fps.

I was having a blast playing the PS2 God of War games a couple months ago, I guess a remake of these would be pretty cool. +1 for Metal Gear Solid, I found it really impressive for a PS1 game but I have to admit that the controls left me frustrated.

@luiz_ I wish Sony would put more of their classics on to the PlayStation Store. God of War 1-3 got HD remasters for PS3 but I don't believe there's any way to play them on PS4/5. They still hold up!

God of War III got a remaster on PS4. It's in the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog and is currently on sale (on the US store anyway) for $9.99.

God of War III was also a PS3 release, not a remaster of a PS2 title.

The Motorstorm games? I see them mentioned once in a while but then forgotten again. We seriously could do with some lovely arcade racers. Forza Horizon sells good numbers but no-one else seems to be able to make a commercially successful arcade racers these days and it’s depressing. All of the Motorstorm games would benefit from a little tweaking of their mechanics (they were always a little on the tough side).

People talk about the PS3 being this massive disappointment in it’s early years but I’m telling you, there was nothing so thrilling as booting up the first game on my launch PS3 and watching the way dust and mud interacted with light as you raced around those grungy courses, it demonstrated to me at least that the PS3 was always a capable machine if you had the time to code for it.

Of course, Driveclub too, which also got some attention due to that mod that was release to get it running at 60fps on the PS5.

The amount of stuff Sony simply sit on. People call out Nintendo for ‘releasing’ their back catalogue via the Switch Game Library but at least they’re doing something with some of their library. The PS Classics range is sadly neglected.

Oops, sorry, getting my numbers mixed up!

Assassin's Creed Unity!

My pick too. It's still an insanely beautiful game but marred by masses of LOD popping, and pretty busted integration with the dreaded Ubisoft Connect. And as beautiful as the lighting is, it's all pre-calc.

I'd love to see the assets ported to the latest version of Anvil, with lighting now realtime RT GI, or maybe even path traced. The LOD pops completely resolved, and given a nice UI and control overhaul. And while they're at it, they can throw UbiSoft Connect into the incinerator.

@GrizzleyPete Agreed...Driveclub, both the main game and PSVR port, were some of the most fun I've had in simcade racing games. I'd started playing them when the "club" part of it was all but dead, but the cars, tracks, and physics were all honed to perfection, I felt. Letting it all just languish is such a waste.

Perhaps not AAA, but ICO is another title I'd love to see remastered.

Only if Bluepoint handled it.
