I was watching the latest video and I noticed that no mention was made of this, adding support for RDNA 4/5 and PSSR to this silicon would be appropriate for this task.

RDNA4 or 5 cannot just be added to an existing RDNA3.5 SOC, that is not how chip design works. There will be a Halo version of whatever the RDNA5/UDNA ends up being named, but the Halo chips are also very expensive due to huge die area, the Strix Halo (395) for example costs $400-600 as a bare chip on board based on leaks online (not confirmed), before any RAM has been added. It has a total of 440 sq mm dies across it's multi-chiplet design, where as the PS5 Pro for comparison is a 279 sq mm die, the PS5/Pro also has only 36 of 40 CUs active to increase usable yield, where as the Strix Halow relies on chiplet harvesting.
Strix Halo, or any of the future Halo chips are really a poor choice for a handheld, they are large power hungry chips, yes for absolute enthusiast devices they offer pretty much the top end performance available in a handheld, but they are overall a very poor choice for a portable system, even more mass produced and with anything wanting reasonable battery life in a sensible form factor.
@dodgypast That's at 50W minimum based on my 395 testing while the handheld is supposed to have a 15W SoC. And the size of the Strix Halo chip is gigantic - financially unviable for a handheld. Even with a die-shrink, it'll still be around the same size as a PS5 Pro processor!
A PS6 Portable will most likely use the same GPU/CPU setup like the home console PS6 but weaker. Kinda like the Xbox Series S/X but larger gap in performance. Using an off the self component wouldn't work. Devs are already having a hard time enough getting games working on the Series S, getting it to work on something that uses a different CPU/GPU would be much harder
