We already covered the OneXPlayer 3 handheld when it was announced back at Computex earlier this month, being one of the first devices to launch with Intel's promising-looking Arc G3 Extreme chipset. Now the device is available for pre-order via Indiegogo - and it doesn't come cheap.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, given that the "console-equivalent" Steam Machine costs over $1000, the OneXPlayer 3 starts at quite a bit more. $1399 gets you the entry-level 512GB configuration with 24GB of RAM, and for $100 more you can opt for a 1TB SSD instead. The top-tier option comes with 32GB of shared memory and a 1TB SSD for $1699.
For that, you'd expect a premium device with a bit of a twist, and the OneXPlayer 3 is exactly that. The specs include a high-end 8.8-inch 1920x1200 AMOLED display, running at 144Hz with VRR and up to 1100 nits of HDR brightness; Intel's flagship Arc G3 Extreme chipset can tap up to 35W at full boost, while an 85Wh battery allows for up to 25 hours of battery life for basic tasks (albeit at much lower power settings).
The twist is that this is a tri-mode device, which can be used as a tablet (with controllers detached) or a laptop (the same but with a stand deployed and fold-out keyboard attached) as well as the standard gaming handheld mode. That should make it a lot more viable as your only Windows 11 device - take it from someone that typed out a long review on an Ayaneo 2S, these form factors are not normally great for productivity!
The Indiegogo campaign is already live, with early backers receiving the handheld in the configuration of their choice plus the controller connector, magnetic keyboard and protective case to sweeten the deal.
What do you make of the OneXPlayer 3? Does it stand out against the Acer Predator Atlas 8 or the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+? Let me know in the comments below.

What's crazy is this almost seems well priced vs some of the competition. What a time to be alive...
I'm not interested in handhelds, but the idea of it being both a gaming handheld and a tablet looks interesting.
A Switch that can become a laptop is a pretty cool idea. I suppose you can just get a small wireless keyboard for any handheld and its the same thing but this looks pretty sleek.
