I'm right with John Linneman. This will drastically alter my gaming choices in the future and seriously limit my purchases like never before. I love having a physical games collection, and I believe we should be able to recoup some of our financial outlay by trading in or selling unwanted games. A Sony price monopoly could be catastrophic. Sony has proved itself terrible for removing licences to digital games and media. Buy-to-rent for only a few years is an awful prospect.
From the chatter, it looks like £ 900-plus for PS6 and somewhere in the £ 1,200- £ 1,500 range for NextBox-Helix. Kinda glad I bought an RTX 5090 (24 GB video RAM) laptop with 62 GB system RAM just before the AI apocalypse. At least with PC, GOG is DRM-free, and you can pick up games really cheap in general in PC gaming stores. This may be the first generation of consoles I give a miss, and I've been day 1 since the PS1 and original Xbox with EVERY console released since then.
