@wsjudd There are only so many jobs available and so much time available to devote to projects. I do not want to see creative & technical talent squandered on perpetually rehashing past successes to further enrich big publishers. For the talent, even if they succeed, they are likely to be laid off after the project anyway. Do I really want an Alpha Protocol remake that badly? Definitely not.
This is radical of me, but I'd prefer to see publishers release the code & art assets of defunct games under licenses that would permit independent preservation & continued development.
They took out the multiplayer mode but still require an Internet connection for a single-player game even if you buy the disc. They added microtransactions. They're charging $60 for this.
I don't think John talking so defensively about how much he enjoyed Metroid Prime 4 paints the game in a good light. Stand by your choice and talk about why you chose it. Don't waste words on opinions to the contrary.
This is disappointing. I'm sure a lot of players will be satisfied at that price, but this seems like a very poor port for the Switch 2 especially. Has Aspyr ever meaningfully improved a bad port with patches?
