I originally meant to get a PS5Pro just because of PSSR2 and games looking much more acceptable. now I think its safe to get a PS5 Base, I'm dead serious. Yes I still see the beauty of having the extra GPU to spear for extra effects along the better PSSR2 but this is quite the win for base users, I for one spammed Sony with the question about PS5 looking pretty bad and needing a better solution than FSR3/TSR/ITGI since XeSS dp4a for instance did really well on perf to a visual enhancement ratio. PS5 just got a lot better imo from this simple inclusion of a better upscaler, now I think its safe to have one in my setup, usually I use one of the few laying around that we got the kids as presents for exclusives. Impressive what can be done with FP16 on a AAA game, stuff like this was always a theory on how much developers arent using the HW. Insomniacs teased ML utilizing the GPU, more than likely also used FP16 in Insomniacs other games that use it for ML- based muscles deformation like Spiderman. I know its always seen as too high of a precision for real applications but we are here.
I'm down for this, I would atleast hope 120hz can be an option due to the modern API changes and they've done it before with Warzone no? anyways not the end of the world but they can't charge me $60+
This is funny, but exciting no less. Cant wait to see what they end up with in the launch game. As we know this will be perfected on the PC and PS6 in a few years. Coming from decent GTA5 enhanced and pure raster heaven that is RD2 though, IQ always on the line for PS5 users when RT is involved. I guess its time I get a PS5 Pro, screw my GPU upgrade
