Welp. That's not good. Isn't there a lot of social engineering tomfoolery you can do with the information leaked? I mean, I assume my info is already in places I don't want it. But this is worrying.
Ironically 'everything's an xbox' might not have been a bad strategy looking at hardware prices today. Could release a $100 box with controller that streams games with a gamepass subscription to go along with Helix release? I would hate that, but XBOX and Playstation seem to be leaving behind the casual with $1000+ box prices next gen. They're probably making the right decisions with this from a spreadsheet perspective, but a lot of lost jobs and talent in the process.
Just not spending any money in their ecosystem until they reverse their decision. Worst part is GTA6, but I've waited long enough I can wait for it on PC. I see three scenarios;
1.) They reverse their decision and PS6 has a separate disc drive with PS6 games being physical. 2.) They don't reverse their decision, enough people are mad and the price for entry is so high that PS6 is an early failure so they reverse their decision part way through the generation. 3.) They don't reverse their decision, not as many people care as I do, any failure is put down to component prices of PS6, they carry on with all digital future and they don't care about the £500+ a year I used to put into their ecosystem.
Either way I'm struggling to care at this point. If you look at the list of PS5 games that were actually exclusive this gen (not also on PC) it's pretty lacklustre. This is just the latest thing that adds to their list of issues as a gaming company.
Welp, last Playstation I'll be buying after buying every console since PS2. I don't even know what they will do about BC on PS6. Presumably it won't have a disc drive, so can I just not play my physical PS4-5 games? Or do they sell a separate disc drive for it, even though no new games will use it.
