I've owned every PlayStation since the very first, and I still have all of them with their (physical) games. Even went for the PS4 Pro when it came out. I was already a bit on the fence about buying a PS6 in the future, even with Exclusive Titles coming back, but the only games that really sold the PlayStation 5 to me were the Final Fantasy Games and Vanillaware's Titles (13 Sentinels on PS4 and Unicorn Overlord on PS5). I'd rather play those on Switch 2 than go fully digital and pay full 70-80€ for every title. Having them all digital basically locks the price at the maximum, instead of saving 15-25€ by buying them on Amazon, or even more when buying them used. I am already pissed at Nintendo for their Keycard shenanigans and them banning consoles from online service if you get a used cartridge and the original Owner made a copy, and now Sony is taking away that as well.
As a kid, I loved going to flea markets and buying NES and SNES games used there, playing them, then reselling them. Gamestop didn't really exist in Germany back then, so you could get R-Type for SNES for 20€ if you were lucky. I loved those days. Sadly, they will never come back.
@kingmustard That depends. You actually CAN resell it, but the buyer must also have the hardware that would be eligible (even if the purchase was made outside the promotion time frame).
The redemption process checks for the appropriate Hardware, e.g., if you have a CPU in your case or a GPU in the case of a promotion for a GPU that fits the game of the redeem code.
You can, however, still sell it to someone who bought that hardware at an earlier time and is no longer eligible, but wants the game. For example, if you bought a 5070Ti now and are eligible, and your friend bought one a year ago and is no longer eligible, the code should still work for him/her because he/she has the correct hardware - unless he/she had another promotion code redeemed for that specific device (then it is locked out; one promotion code per device ID). I admit, it would make reselling quite a bit more complicated, but it's not impossible.
Either way, depending on whether you can resell it or not, it is 900€-950€. It's a roughly 40% cost increase over a 9070XT.
@kingmustard You are right; I should have pointed out that I did not count any promotional extra games, but you could sell that code to recoup 50€, I guess. As for the price of the cards, the first card I found for the 9070 XT at that price was a Gigabyte, so I compared it to the price of a Gigabyte 5070 Ti (which is 1050€ on Amazon in my area). I guess if you go for a no-name brand, you can get an even better deal for the 5070Ti, but I wanted a comparable product, so I chose the same brand. So yes, if you want to go with any brand and sell the game it comes with, you can probably go down to as low as 900€ for a 5070ti. Those 2 cards are about equal in rasterization, and the Nvidia is roughly 12% faster in RT. You still have to decide if those 12% more frames with RT are worth 250€ for you. I'd say even 12% overall performance would be a hard sell for an overall 40% more money, but of course that is for you to decide.
@Darren1967 You are correct in your assumption that AMD is about 2 years behind Nvidia; however, Nvidia's drivers have gotten worse over the past year, and their technology has been a bit stagnant as well. While I admit that Frame Generation is finally at a point where it is usable with DLSS 4.0, I don't think Radeon is far behind. Sure, if you want the best of the best, you need to stick to Nvidia, but not everybody can pay 1500€ for a GPU when you look at RAM hitting 4 digits as well in the foreseeable future. I myself am running a 4090, and I think the decision to buy it when it was discounted to 1650€ was on the same level of good decision-making as me buying my 1080 GTX back in the day, but looking at today's market, the 9070XT is a really good deal that will be more than enough for most gamers.
You can get a 9070XT for 650€, which is only slightly worse in RT (about 10-15%) than a 5070 Ti, which costs 1050€ these days. Add to that that Nvidia drivers have been pretty bad the past 10-12 months, and it is almost a no-brainer pick for a 1440p Desktop if you value your money.
How does this Controller compare against the GOAT, the Cyclone 2? I recently bought the Cyclone 2 and am Super Happy with it. Works great on my Switch 2 (getting the wake-up to work did take some time, but in the end it was just a one-time setup and works every time now) and on my PC. I could see that the charging stand is probably better, but a real head-to-head would be interesting.
@goldgin2 They had a new Sports game announced (though without a peripheral), a new Xenoblade, Switch 2 Upgrades to the 3 Xenoblade Chronicles games, an expansion for the newest high-rated Pokémon game, and a Dragon Quest Pokémon-style game. Even if, for all of these (except the new Xenoblade), you might not have gotten EXACTLY what you asked for, you certainly got very close to all of them.
Loved the Nintendo Direct, but that is also because it got a lot of Games I am interested in. I can understand that ppl might have been a bit disappointed by the amount of ports and games that are more or less "party games", but there were some truly fantastic reveals in this Direct: Xenoblade Genesis, the new Final Fantasy, the Ocarina of Time remake, Kingdom Hearts 4, and the New Fire Emblem. I've also been waiting for Switch 2 Editions of the Xenoblade Games, and I got that as well. The only negative thing is, that I now have to decide if I play the new Fire Emblem first or Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, because they release on the same day ...
@wsjudd AHH SO CLOSE! That's what I always experience - I find keyboards that match most of my requirements, but never every single one of them.
The Ducky Classic 3 is wired only, so no wireless option.
The Keychron K10 Pro is Bluetooth wireless only, which is not enough for the gaming part I do.
The Keychron K10 Max sounds perfect - Dongle for good polling rate, Double Shot PBT of great quality, lighting, and the best of all, Banana Switches, which sound just right as an evolution of my Cherry MX Brown I have been using on my Majestouch (I have the 1, not the 2). Sadly, their Keycaps do not do a shine-through of the legends on the Keycaps, which is the main feature of backlighting for me. Even if I switch the Keycaps to ones that do offer the feature to shine through, their LEDs are south-facing, which means it won't look good. The Ducky 3 does have north-facing LEDs, but as I said, the lack of wireless kind of kills it for me.
Those 3 are, without a doubt, great keyboards, but they fall just a bit short of what I am looking for.
Alright, since you offered help with any questions for mechanical Keyboards... I am looking for a bit of an upgrade to my current Keyboard, which is a Cherry Brown Filco Majestouch with Corsair Double-shot PBT Keycaps.
I was thinking about getting a new one with backlit Keys, but I do not want to compromise on the quality of my typing. I use the keyboard for writing lots of text, but also for gaming. I would also not mind having a wireless option on top of it, but it needs to have double-shot PBT Keycaps, backlit keys, and a comparable typing feel to the Majestouch or better. I heard there are new switches that feel even better than Cherry MX, but so far, I have been unable to find anything that is of the same build quality and has those additional features I need.
Last but not least, it needs to be a 100% Keyboard. I need Numpad and all additional keys and ISO Layout, because I use German-Layout Keyboards. Can you point me to a couple of Keyboards that meet these requirements?
