Well, if the most expensive game ever made can’t provide a 60fps performance mode to current-gen consoles with this many years of development time, what is left for other studios?
Personally, I think they’ll scale the game to low specs such as Switch 2 and portable PCs as well as all the way up to GPUs that aren’t even for sale yet. There is just not enough market if you lock the “good” experience to extremely expensive hardware.
Very interesting interview! I hope they improve their scalability systems for future games, though, because while AC Shadows is very much the same game on Switch 2 with cutbacks, the actual cutbacks are really felt in some areas - water and lighting in particular. Maybe they could learn from or even leverage Star Wars Outlaws engine for Switch 2 versions.
I hope they release patches soon to address some issues. It’s such a beautiful game that it deserves some extra love, really. Performance and water enhancements are in my wish list.

Re: "PS5 Will Be My Last Console": After 45K Votes, 86% of DF Viewers Say Sony Should Reconsider Killing Physical Games
There is a sizable audience for physical games still, so I wish Sony wouldn’t leave them behind.
That said, I bought a Digital Edition PS5 in launch day, so I guess I’m part of Sony’s reasoning, hehe.
