I can give an excellent example of how far valve has come with their steam os and proton compatibility later. Last month I built my own little steam machine for the living room. Using a modest 28cm cube case and a 16gb rx9600 (9700 would not fit) and a 7700x with 32gb ram and......steam os as the operating system no windows. It installed in minutes and I had to tweak absolutely nothing to start playing games. My Xbox one controller connected over Bluetooth. Even the wife approved as it fits in one of cubes of our under TV kalax unit and is whisper quiet.
No updates, no windows ads, it just works. So far played helldivers, jedi survivor (even managed to get opticscsler working for fsr4 support), project cars, ffxi, Hogwarts legacy. All these games just work. You know a tech company has nailed something when the wife approves it can you imagine a windows pc in the living room doing all this?
I'm loving this new website and the fact that the reviews are written down as well as on video. I enjoyed reading this review it reminded me of pc gamer reviews from back in the 90s. No metaphorical nonsense or a "review" masquerading around some form of commentary on AI etc just the facts. Recently I've become very disappointed with Eurogamer who were my go-to site for over 10 years for this kind of journalism, not that it doest have a place. I cancelled my subscription with them earlier this month after the arc raiders review and used that money to upgrade my DF sub to the next level instead. If the content is going to look like this going forwards personally I look forwarss to it

Re: Hands-on: Helldivers 2's "Slim" PC Beta Does Wonders - Even on HDD
I swapped over last night and got 100gb of space back. Working fine no issues
