Can anyone tell me what exactly that means? If I understand it correctly since I'm using a 4k TV and playing on Quality on the Pro, the setting is superfluous? It was default on so just making sure.

We now have a PSSR slider too we have to mess with. Might as well buy a PC at this point...

You should check out this site called Digital Foundry. They do a great job covering stuff like this:

And finally, the March 29th title update added a "fixed 4K output" toggle, using FSR3 to upscale to 4K, fixing the blurriness of the presentation.

That's from a feature on their front page, which also includes a video breakdown: https://www.digitalfoundry.net/features/crimson-desert-on-ps5...

They post a lot of videos about stuff like this, they're great.

There were also some detailed patch notes: https://crimsondesert.pearlabyss.com/en-US/News/Notice/Detail...

[PlayStation 5] Added a “Fixed 4K Output” option to provide a sharper gameplay experience.

When this option is enabled, the game will output at 4K resolution regardless of whether the display natively supports 4K, allowing for a sharper image.
On the base PlayStation 5 in Performance Mode, enabling this option will allow you to upscale with FSR.
This option is enabled by default and can be disabled.
When disabled, the game will output according to the maximum resolution supported by the monitor.
