Like me, Alex just loves the Command & Conquer franchise. Let's show this man some love by showing him how many people here are interested in this franchise, which is nowadays available on both EA App as well as Steam.
Would love for DF to ever do a DF Retro of the whole Command & Conquer franchise and its many ports. If DF wants to ever do that, please DM me as I can provide so much info from both the historic as well as the technical site as I talked with quite some devs that have been involved with this franchise. People are also free to ask me questions about anything they want C&C related.
I loved Command and Conquer, first one I played was Red Alert 2 and then Yuri's Revenge the year after that. The acting in those real time cutscenes was so bad but also so nostalgic lol. That used to be my Friday and Saturday nights with my friends, playing rounds of Command and Conquer until the sun came up.
I remember getting C&C for my PS1 in 1996 which I adored, and led me to get Red Alert on PC in the same year. After that the series went from strength to strength with probably tib sun or RA2 being my fav. I would love to see a spiritual successor but I would also settle from some more remasters.
Tiberian Sun was my introduction to the series and I loved the dynamic, messy nature of the combat. I tried replaying it recently but found the unit sound clips ("moving out", "loud and clear" etc.) a bit tiresome these days and I didn't see an option to disable them, same with Red Alert 2. I was wondering @mrtnptrs if you have any recommendations for editing the game's files to change this as I wasn't sure what the best approach was.
@Sloth-1999 I have sadly no experience on how to edit or disable the voice lines within the classic games like Tiberian Sun. Might be good to ask this in the CnCNet Discord, which is focused on the classic games, like Tiberian Sun: https://discord.gg/rmjjXupan3
