@themightyant I'm getting a Steam Machine for lighter weight PC games and emulation in the living room; as an accessory to my PS5 Pro, where I play most modern AAA games. and for that task, I think it'll be great.
The Steam Controller 2 is also something I'm extremely excited for. As for ergonomics, I think it'll be better than the Steam Deck, but not as comfortable as more traditional controllers like an Xbox Series or a Dualsense.
But the amount of inputs usable is pretty incredible and will be really really fun to have in a lot of games. Been using the original SC since 2017, and while I think the original is gonna be better as a trackpad first design, Steam Controller 2 will have a lot of flexibility.
It's a swiss army knife of inputs, and robust software to enable truly whatever you want. And as someone who's extremely picky about game controls, it'll be a great time in spite of the compromises of having so many inputs.
