I just built a 250k system. I considered it but in the end with a black case, black cables and a bit of extra time on the managements my cables are barely noticable on the normal system. Didn't seem worth the current £30 or so premium, and I was worried about the back connectors not allowing the back of the case to shut (also an H3 flow). I was worried that all my parts would arrive then I'd get compatibility issues in some way... Maybe when they're a bit more common and like for like on price...
I had major trouble with the HDR in this game with gradiated like patterns in the sky. Turned off dynamic tone mapping and all of a sudden the brightness was super low with HGIG enabled. I've never been able to get HDR to work right, ESPECIALLY in windows, clearly I'm doing something wrong...
Nice piece Richard, hope the whole team is well and getting on. I'm excited by this technology and I shared your initial enthusiasm and feel educated about the other concerns raised by your second take. As I've said in other comments, internet trolls are always looking for drama and this will all blow over in a few days. The way I see it is that there's a community of (mainly) blokes all talking about video games - I think the core audience can have a level take on this. The people with time to be whiny trolling bitches about it are probably 17 and have no more depth to their personalities than what they're told to think by the algorithm. Take a cortisol break this weekend, and as I've said before if you fancy a pint I'm local!
I'm very excited by this machine - I know I don't need one but there's something about the gamecubesque form factor that appeals to my inner nostalgic lizard brain.
The amount of foul flicker in shadows and reflections on PS5 pro was unreal. I loved playing through this but even my wife who knows very little about games saw that the lighting and upscaling technologies implemented did more to harm the visual presentation than improve it.
I agree the handheld version was impressive but so so so blurry, I traded it in and went for the PC version on the rog xbox ally x instead, FSR 3.1 balanced looks way better at 1080p on the handheld screen and the frame rate is over double.

Re: The AI Tech Crunch: Are We Looking At A "Dark Age" For Gaming Hardware?
Well at least if this is the case I can be happy with the hardware I've got and just focus on the games!
